Good afternoon, everyone, It’s my great pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you. The content of my lesson is Senior English for China Book1 Unit 1 (My First Day at Senior High). I’ll be ready to begin this lesson from five parts. Analysis of the teaching material, the teaching methods, the studying methods, the teaching procedure , and Blackboard design. First, let me talk about the teaching material.

Analysis of the teaching material

This lesson is about the school life of a newcomer to Senior High. The reading part presents us what a newcomer sees, and feels on the first day at Senior High. The contents of this module are so closely to the real life of the students that it will surely arouse their interest in the classroom activities. By studying this lesson , Students can get a general idea on how to express their feelings about their teachers , classes and the school life in English.

Analysis of the students

The students have just entered the Senior High school. They can simply express their own thoughts with the knowledge they got in Junior School. They show great interest in their English study of Senior High . They are eager to get more information. However the teaching models in their

Junior School can’t adapt their English study in Senior High school. So we should combine the students with their real situations, try our best to let the students take part in our teaching activities in a relaxing atmosphere. Analysis of teaching aims

Knowledge objects:

The students can hear, read and use the main sentence patterns. The students can understand the content of the lesson.

The students can use the patterns to express their thoughts in the proper situation.

Ability objects:

To develop the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

To train the students ability of working in pairs

To improve the students’ reading ability, especially their skimming and scanning ability.

3 Emotion or moral objects:

By completing the task, the students can increase their interest and set up self-confidence in their English study

To let the students know the serious attitude towards to the study. Analysis of teaching method and study method

According to the teaching content and the real situation of the students, I mainly use the following methods:

(1)讨论法(discussion )

(2)任务教学法(task-based method)

(3) 小组活动(pair-work and group-work)

(4)多媒体辅助教学(CAI)

(5)听说法(listening and speaking)

As for the learning methods, Let the students get the knowledge actively by probe study and cooperative study.

Analysis of teaching points and difficulties

Teach the students how to describe their own school, class and their classmates in English .

2. Understand and use the adjectives ending with –ed and –ing Teaching steps Step 1 Lead-in (Discuss and compare)

T: Everybody , we have studied in a new school named Yibin city first middle school . Before you come here , all of you studied in different schools, now I will give you some time to think what the main differences and similarities between Junior High school and Senior High school.
