高一英语学科必修说课稿:Nelson Mandela a modern hero

Hello,everyone.I’m honoured to be here to share my ideas about how to teach warming up and reading.

In the process, I will focus on students’ long-term development and enable them to use proper reading skills and strategies. In other words, students are guided to read efficiently and independently.

My teaching plan will include 3 parts. They’re analysis of the teaching material,teaching procedures and blackboard design.

Part 1 Analysis of the teaching material

The topoc of this unit is Nelson Mandela—a modern hero.In this part,students will know about the qualities a great person should have.The reading passage Elias’s Story is to introduce to students the qualities and abilities that make Nelson Mandela such an interesting person to study.Not only was he able to inspire many to follow him despite many difficulties but he became an international symbol for fairness and justice.

Teaching aims

Based on the analysis of the teaching material, I have chosen the following as the teaching aims of my lesson:

1 Knowledge aims:

a. key words and phrases:hero quality willing active republic fight peaceful prison period law fee youth league stage vote position accept violence equal  lose heart In trouble   worry about  out of work  as a matter of fact   blow up  put…in prison

b. key sentences

It was in 1952 and Mandela was the black lawyer to whom I went for advice.

The last thirty years have seen the greatest number of laws stopping our rights and progress,until today we have reached a stage where we have almost no rights at all.

We were put into a posetion in which we had either to accept we were less important,or fight the government.

2 Ability aims

a Talk abot great people.

b Express your points of view.

3 Emotional aims

a Learn about some great people and qualities they have in common.

b Get the students to learn from Nelson Mandela to develop their moral qualities.

Teaching important points

1Understand the real meaning of the hero/heroine

2 Improve the students’ reading ability

Teaching difficult points

1 How to express their own opinions and ideas.

2 How to grasp the main idea of the text.

Teaching methods:

1Fast reading and careful reading

2 Asking and answering activity

3 Individual.pair and group work

4 Discussion.

Teaching aids

A recorder,a projector and a computer.

Part2 Teaching procedures

Step 1 warming up(10 mins)

Task 1 guessing game: who is he/she?

(The teacher read the descriptions and let students guess who he is.in this way,it can practice their listening)

Then according to the pictures ,have a discussion about “who is your hero/heroine?why?”

(In this way,students can talk about their heros to pratice their speaking and know how to describe people’s characters.)

Step 2 pre-reading(5mins)

Who is a freedom fighter?then give a short introduction about Nelson Mandela including some short stories.

(students can know some basic information about the great man.They must be impressed by his strong will. )

Step3 while-reading(15 mins)

Fast reading

Task 1 What are the two main characters?

Task 2 how many parts ?what’s the main idea?
