实用商务英语:主持会议

在BEC考试阅读中,我们经常会遇到一些细节性问题。那么什么是细节性问题呢?细节性问题是关于Supporting Details类的问题,通过Skimming找出主题后,应进一步掌握阐述和发展主题的主要事实,或按要求找出特定细节。在回答此类问题时,应采用查读法(Scanning),因为这些具体内容(Detai1s是用来说明、论证或分析文章中心的。这类题目常以"WH-"形式来提问,如who, what, when, where, why及how等形式。

这些问题的表达常不采用文章中的原话提问,而是使用同义词语等,因此,在选择答案前应首先看准题于,看清问题所问究竟;然后,在查读时注意寻找与题目相关的关键词语;最后,在充分理解原文、原题的基础上确定正确答案。

Good morning everyone. I'll be your chairman forthe quarterly meeting of Action Appliances, thirdquarter, 1991. The meeting is now called to order.

According to the agenda, the order of businessis as follows:

1. A reading of the minutes from the lastquarterly meeting.

2. A report from Sales Director, Sam Liang, onthis quarter's domestic sales.

3. An overview of Action's proposed U.S. 1992public relations campaign. PR Director, Jane Tsai, will lead the discussion.

4. A demonstration by the Design Team of Action's newest washer/dryer combinationunit, with a Q&A to follow.

5. The last order of business is my presentation of the projected outlook for Canadiansales.

So, if there are no questions, let's get started. Miss Teng, will you please begin with theminutes from the last quarterly meeting?

宣布预定的议程之后,礼貌上应该问大家有无其它问题。若没有,你便请下一个程序的负责人开始,算是交出‘话棒'。请他人做事时,"will you please..."是个客气的说法

;若要更客气,则可以用"would you please..."。

结构分析

主持正式会议有一些特定的用语,值得注意,并予以牢记,以便需要时可派上用场。这类会议中主席的开场语应该注意到以下几点:

1. 问候大家

向与会者打个招呼。

2. 宣布开始

要求大家注意,并宣布会议即将开始。

3. 宣读议程

宣读议程(主要是讨论事项之次序)。

4. 请发言人

请下一位发言人(或讨论负责人)开始。
