课  题 Lesson 41:  When are you free?   (九年级下册)

教学目标 知识目标 1.学习和复习会表达职业的单词: computer programmer, engineer, pilot,actor , actress , basketball player,astronaut. 2.熟练运用表达职业句型: ①  What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a computer programmer. ②  How are you going to do that? I’m going to study computer science.

能力目标 1.     谈论“未来自己与他人理想的职业”。 2.     谈论为实现理想所做的打算和安排。

情感、态度和价值观目标 通过制定未来计划,逐步培养勤奋进取的良好习惯.

教学重点 Target language: 1. What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a computer programmer.                2. How are you going to do that? I’ m going to study computer science. Vocabulary: computer programmer, engineer, pilot, astronaut,            actor, actress , a professional basketball player

教学难点 Target language

教学方法 讲练法、讨论法综合运用

教材分析 本节课的话题是“What do you want to be when you grow up?”,贴近学生生活实际,易激发学生的学习积极性;语言情景真实;词汇再现率高,符合语言学习的认识规律。本节课的教学目标是:1.学会一些有关职业的英文表达形式. 2.谈论未来自己与他人理想的职业。3.谈论为实现理想的职业所做的打算和安排。

教学设计   通过讨论学生熟悉的职业名称,引出该课的主题,学习生词,并呈现新内容。

教学时数 1课时 教具准备 多媒体课件,录音机,卡片

教学活动

Teaching Procedures Step 1: Free talk and Presentation Step 2: Pre –task Teach the new words. Show the words on the screen. Point to them and lead the students to learn them. Explain the meaning of them if necessary. Ask Ss to practice these sentences: What do you want to be when you grow up? I am going to be a astronaut. Step 3: Group work Divide the class into small groups. Ask the students to talk about what kind of jobs they would like to have when they grow up , and to briefly explain why they made such choices, Students may refer to the second reading for the names of different jobs. If you like have two or three students speak to the class as a whole. Step4: Make a survey and give a report . Ask the students to make a survey and fill in the chart using the target language. Then act it out. Give a report. For example : S1 is going to be a/an…  when he /she grows up. He /She is going to …. Step 5: Play a guessing game Step 6: Listen to the audiotape then answer the questions. This activity provides listening practice with the target language. Ask students to answer the following questions: What does Danny want to be? What does Jenny want to be? What does Brian want to be? Check the answers. Step 7:Have the students read the text a few minutes, Then let them do the exercises. Step8: Homework Write a composition. The title is “My future isn’t a dream”.
