 Unit 1 Travel

一、教材分析

本单元围绕着谈论“旅游”来开展听、说、读、写的训练。 通过介绍不同的国家的人文、地理、风俗习惯等来贯穿文化的传递和交流, 拓展学生的文化背景与国际视野。语法方面主要学习专有名词与连词and, but, so的用法。 本单元具体学习内容见“认知目标”。

二、教学对象分析

1. 学生对“旅游”这个话题比较感兴趣,有利于开展本单元的各项听、说、读、写任务。

2. 学生对于专有名词与连词and, but, so 的用法其实并不陌生, 在小学已经有接触, 只是还没有进行专项的归纳性的学习。 在本单元,教师可以系统地帮助学生温故而知新,引导学生在一定的语境中熟练运用这几个连词连接简单句,并注意上下文之间的联系。

三、单元教学目标

(一)认知目标

1. 语音:

1). 能准确读出以下三对辅音音标的发音及掌握其基本的字母组合发音规律: /f/-/v/,/?/-/3/,/θ/-/?/

2).能流利地朗读课文及与课文水平相当的短文,语音、语调、句子重音和停顿基本正确。

2).能用本单元学习的重点词汇、句型进行造句。

3).能写出旅游明信片,简单介绍旅游的行程与自己的感受。

(二).思想情感目标:

1)通过谈论“旅游”,的相关话题,帮助学生了解我国及世界其他国家的人文、地理、文化风俗与习惯等,从而拓展学生的语言文化背景知识与视野。

2)培养学生热爱大自然、尊重世界各族人民与文化的情感态度。

(三).能力发展目标:

1)能够在听、说、读、写等语言综合实践活动中运用本单元所学的重点词汇、句型与语法。

2)在学习中提高交流和传递信息的能力,在写作中正确运用连词使文章更连贯和流畅。

3)通过指导学生在模拟交际中运用所学的知识,培养学生探究学习、合作学习、自主学习的能力。

四、单元教学重点

1.学生熟练掌握重点词汇29个,短语11个。

2.指导学生利用所学句型正确表达思想、进行交际活动a

3.指导学生归纳、总结连词and,but与so的用法并在实践运用中熟练运用它们。

五、单元教学难点

1.通过形式多样的课堂活动与任务,帮助学生完成阅读理解、听力理解等学习任务。

2.引导学生积极主动地探究学习,从教材以外的多渠道去了解与本单元主题相关的文化背景信息、资料等,并能与同学进行相互交流,顺利开展包括口头汇报、海报展示等拓展活动,培养学生探究学习、自主学习、合作学习的能力。

六、教学策略

1.在教学中,教师应积极创设情景引入,配合媒体、表情、动作、进行视听说演示,激发学生兴趣,以听说带读写。

2.教师应采用有利于学生学习的教学方法,善于引导学生通过阅读或观察、比较对知识进行归纳总结。增加学习内容的复现和巩固练习、及时反馈学习情况等。

3.教师应该根据自己学生的具体情况对教材进行整合,精讲多练,调动学生的学习兴趣,使他们积极参与课堂各种学习活动。在阅读的过程中,教师指导学生培养阅读策略与技能及写作过程中的写作技巧训练。

七、媒体的选择与设计

1.充分利用和发挥基本的教学媒体,如课本、挂图、教师的身体语言、板书的作用。

2.适时、合理地使用计算机多媒体,增大课堂的容量,更好地辅助课堂教学。

八、各课时教学内容安排建议

第1课时 Reading A

一、教材分析

(一)教学内容

Reading A France is calling是一篇英文杂志上关于旅游的文章,大致介绍法国概况----首都,著名景点,风土人情,饮食文化等

(二)教学目标:

1.知识目标: 了解有关旅游的文章,了解法国的概况, 从中获取法国的地理地貌,风土人情等主要信息.

2. 能力目标:

A.通过多种skimming和scanning的阅读活动和阅读技巧进行阅读,回答相应的问题,帮助学生理解课文。

B.指导学生运用一定的阅读理解学习策略,培养一些阅读微技能,如:扫读,获取文章大意;通过构词法或上下文猜测生词大意;推断等。

C.通过充分的语言输入和适当的相关材料的增补, 在阅读后学生能进行相关内容的语言输出.

D.拓展学生的文化背景知识,开阔视野。

(三)重点和难点

1. 通过skimming和scanning的阅读活动和阅读技巧进行阅读,回答相应的问题,帮助学生理解课文。

2. 在阅读的过程中注重阅读技巧,解题技巧,抓住文章重点,通过上下文猜词义等的渗透.

二、教学环节:

1.Leading-in

Cartoon talk.

A. Talk about the cartoon.

B. Ask the Ss: Where did you travel last year? Where have you been before? List the names of the places.If possible, ask more about the places the Ss have been to.

2.Pre-reading

(1)Get the Ss to talk about France,showing the map of France.

Meanwhile,present some new words and phrases:coast,central,,beach, side,scenic…(通过图片串讲单词)

(2)Prediction:answer the questions in A 1.

3.While-reading

(1)Fast reading:Ss read the passage fast and try to find out:

What do people grow in central France?

What is France famous for?

一、教学内容:阅读Reading B San Francisco welcomes you

二、教学目标:

1.指导学生阅读理解文章,获取信息。

2.引导学生了解更多的世界各地的人文、地理等文化背景知识,开阔视野。

3.指导学生运用一些阅读学习策略,培养阅读微技能,如:寻读,找出关键信息等。

三、教学环节设计:

1.Revision—Competition (between boys and girls)

Get the Ss to say something about France.

2.Leading-in

(1)Ss finish the quiz in B2 first.

(2)Ask:Do you know any big city in the USA?

Get the Ss to say anything about this.

(3)Say:Today we come to visit San Francisco first.

What is San Francisco famous for? (结合P4的图片讨论) 单词串讲。

3.Reading B2

(1)Get the Ss to read the passage silently and finish the “T “or “F” exercises.

7.Homework

( 1 ) Find more information about the American city you want to visit.And write down more reasons to support yourself.(最好图文并茂)

第3课时 Listening A & B

一、教学内容:两篇听力理解为主的材料。

二、教学目标:

1.通过听介绍艾菲尔铁塔与曼谷的文段,帮助学生理解并获取必要的具体信息,培养学生提取关键信息点的能力。

2.通过文化背景知识的输入,拓展学生的文化视野与知识面,并渗透跨文化交际策略。

三、教学环节设计:

1.Revision—TaIk bar

Let the Ss to talk about the cities of the USA that they would like to visit.(They were asked to find more information about it the day before.)

2.Leading—in

(1)Ask:What’s the symbol of the USA?

Do you know the symbol of France?

Do you know how tall the Eiffel Tower is? When was it built?

Say:If you don’t know, it doesn’t matter.After listening to this recording,you’ll learn more about it.

(2)Say:Now Sally is visiting……Listen to the recording and complete the notes.

(3)Study tips:How to complete the notes while listening?

3.Listening A

(1)Play the recording for the Ss to listen and complete the notes.

(2)Play the recording again for the Ss to listen and check their answers.

(3)Deal with some new words and phrases.

4.Culture Bar(Optional)

Show the picture of the Arch of Triumph(凯旋门).And get the Ss to read a short passage about it.

5.Leading—in

(1)Ask:After visiting Europe for a few days,would you like to turn to visit Asia? Are there any beautiful cities in Asia?

Get the Ss to talk about any Asian city they know.

(2)Show a picture of Bangkok.Ask:Do you know this city?

Yes,it’s Bangkok.It’s the capital of Thailand.

What do you know about Bangkok?

(3)Yindi is talking about his home town-Bangkok to his class.Let’s listen to his talk and answer the questions.

6.Listening B

(1)Get the Ss to read through the questions.above first.

(2)Play the recording for the Ss to listen and tick out the true answers.

(3)Play it again for the Ss to listen once again,with the books open.

(4)Check the answers in class.

(5)Deal with some useful expressions or difficult sentences.

7.Homework

(1)Group work. try to find more about Thailand,for example the famous scenic areas,the traditional festivals,etc.

第4课时 Language

一、教学内容:

Practice-based,启发学生,归纳语言知识,开展各层次、强化性和综合性练习,多种技能结合训练,以练为主。

二、教学目标:

1.帮助学生理解并正确运用专有名词。

2.引导学生发现并归纳出连词and,but,so的意义与用法,并能在模拟交际中正确运用这三个连词。

3.培养学生探究学习、合作学习、自主学习的能力。

三、教学环节设计:

1.Revision—Talk Bar

Check the assignment the day before.Get some Ss to talk about Thailand,such as the traditional festival,the food,etc,

2.Grammar learning---Proper nouns

(1)Let the Ss read a short passage about the Water-Sprinkling Festival(泼水节)in Thailand,and try to find out the answers to 2—3 questions.(Help the Ss to understand the passage.)

(2)Get the Ss to pay attention to the words with capital letters.Help them to find out the usages of Proper nouns.

3.Practice

(1)Find out the differences(Ex.a1)

(2)Get the Ss to give more examples.

(3)Finish Ex.A2.

4.Learning B------Using and, but and so

(1)Get the Ss to read the passage about the Water-Sprinkling Festival again and pay attention to the conjunctions:and,but,so.Help them find out their usages.

(2)Let the Ss make their own sentences with each of the three conjunctions.

(3)Get some Ss to report their sentences to the class.

(4)Practice:Ex.B…Fill in the blanks with and, but and so.

5.Competition(Optional)

Have a competition between boys and girls.(要求一方说一个简单句,另一方立即对上下半句,且要用上连词and,but或so来连接,在规定时间内对得上,且句意通顺合理的得分。)

6.Homework

(1)故事大王比赛…Get the Ss to find at least five proper nouns and make up a short story with them,using and, but and so.(收齐后张贴出来,让全班同学评比,评出前五名,准备进入决赛。)

第5课时 More practice A&B

一、教学内容:

本课可作弹性选择,Part A定位为泛听材料,Part B定位为泛读材料。

二、教学目标:

1.通过听力与阅读训练,增补与本单元主题相关的材料,帮助学生了解更多与该话题相关的信息,拓展学生的知识面与文化视野。

2.培养学生热爱、尊重世界各族人民与文化的情感态度。

三、教学环节设计:

1.Revision

Check the homework assigned the day before.

2.Leading-in

(1)Introduce the background of the dialogue in Part A.

(2)Get the Ss to read through the questions above first.

3.Listening

(1)Play the tape for the first time.Ss listen and try to find out the answers to the questions above.

(2)Play the tape again for the Ss to check their answers.

(3)Check the answers in class.Meanwhile,deal with any useful expressions or important sentences.

eg:①We didn't get home until midnight last night.

②How about meeting for lunch so that we can sit and talk?

4.Reading

(1)Get the Ss to guess what else Lie Jie visited in London.

(2)Introduce the background of the passage in Part B.

(3)Get the Ss to read through the “T or F” sentences first.Then the Ss read the passage silently and decide the sentences true of false.

第6课时 Speaking & Project

一、教学内容:

几个清、浊辅音音素和谈论"Where would you like to go? Why?” 以说为主。

(二、教学目标:

1.帮助学生准确读出以下三对辅音音标的发音及掌握其基本的字母组合发音规律:/f/-/v/,/?/-/3/,/θ/-/?/

2.在紧扣“Travel”这个主题的一系列讨论中,培养学生用英语交际的口语表达能力。

3.通过Project的讨论与制作,培养学生合作学>-j、自主学习的能力,并拓展了学生的国际文化视野,培养学生热爱、尊重世界各族人民与文化的情感态度。

三、教学环节设计:

1.Talk Bar

(1)“故事大王”决赛一由前五名小组代表现场讲故事,以现场演绎的语音、语调、感情色彩等评分,决出前三名并加以奖励。

(2)Get some Ss to talk about London.

2.Speaking A…Talk time

(1)Get the Ss to pronounce the following phonetic signs correctly: /f/-/v/,/?/-/3/,/θ/-/?/

(2)Play the tape for Ss to listen to the words.Ss circle the words they hear.(Ex.A1)

(3)Ex.A2一Ss listen to the conversation and circle all the above sounds.Then Ss practice the conversation in pairs.

(4)Get 2 or 3 pairs to act out.

3.Speak up

(1)Introduce Task 1:

Ask:Your family is planning to go traveling for a holiday this year. What would you like to do on holiday with your parents?

(2)Brain storming.Meanwhile,the teacher write down the Ss’ideas on the blackboard.

(3)Introduce Task2:

(1)Say:Now your family is planning to go abroad for a holiday this year.

Where would you like to go? These names of cities may help you. Get the Ss to look at the table in Part A of Project.Ss work in groups of four and write down the names of the capital city and the largest city in each country.

(2)Check the answers in class.

(3)Let the Ss read the example in B2.This may help them to finish the task.

(4)Ss discuss in groups of four. Decide:Where would you like to go?

And write down at least four reasons for the choice.

(5)Get some groups to tell their decisions and reasons to the whole class.

4.Project assignment

(1)Introduce the project:Get each group to find more information about the city they would like to visit.Then write a paragraph about it.Find or draw interesting pictures for the city.Make a poster to present the city.

(2)Get the Ss to read through the questions in Part B of Project.Use these questions to help them.

5.Homework

(1)Group work

Find more information about the city and make a poster.

(2)Get Ss to bring a postcard to school the next day, if they have got any.

第7课时 Writing & Project show(综合实践课)

一、定位:

Write a postcard.以写和说为主。

二、教学目标:

1.指导学生学会写旅游明信片。

2.通过project的汇报展示,培养学生综合运用语言知识的能力。

3.引导学生小结归纳本单元所学重点知识。

三、教学环节设计:

1.Showtime

(1)Get some groups to present their posters and introduce the city to the whole class.

(2) Other advice:We’d better put up the posters of each group for the whole class to appreciate.And let the whole class to choose the top three.

2.Writing

(1)Say:When we go on holiday, we often send postcards to our friends of family at home.Have you ever written or received a postcard?

(2)Let the Ss show their own postcards.

(3)Let the Ss read the postcard in Part A 1 and answer the questions.

(4)Complete the postcard from Peter to Mabel in Part B.

(5)Get the Ss to write their own postcards,with the help of the tips in Part C.

3.Summary

Help the Ss to summarize what they have learned in this unit.

4.Homework

Go over this unit and get ready for the unit test.
